1. How does an Airline apply for membership to the ASCA organization ?
The first step is to apply to the ASCA general secretary for a questionaire. The airline applying for membership is obliged to completed the questionaire and return it to him. It will then be examined at the next EXCOM meeting and if the airline meets with the requirements, the earliest possibility for granting membership would be at the following AGM. A representative of the airline making the application will have to attend the AGM as an observer and make a presentation of the sports & social clubs of his/her airline. Finally the delegates will decide if the applicant is to be accepted for full membership to the organisation. Nearly all of our members are from Europe. The reason is that most of our competitions and the programs connected to them are arranged during the course of a weekend, with arrivals on Fridays and departures during the course of a Sunday. There are a few exceptions where the competitions last longer, for example; Alpine and Nordic Skiing, Sailing and Golf, where the competitions are arranged for more than one day.
In the past there have been members from outside of Europe, but there have been problems with the issue of tickets and travel problems. However it would be interesting to know who would like to join us, and in which activities they might wish to participate. We are open to new ideas and input from non-ASCA airlines.

2. Can an airline not being member of ASCA take part in an ASCA-competition ?
Participation can be on an one time basis. The participating team has to follow the official ASCA rules for the respective type of sport/event and the guest can - although being ranked in the overall results - be the "ASCA Trophy Holder" for this year.
If ASCA declares an event as "International Open" every airline is entitled to take part with full rights and responsibilities including holding the ASCA Trophy for one year if being the winner of the competition.
3. Is an airline allowed to send more than one team to an ASCA-competition ?
Regional or subsidiary bound teams are allowed within the official entry of one airline - see our Constitution, Section hub based teams for details.
Further teams of the same hub can take part "out of competition" or in a guest role. One team has to be marked and nominated as THE airline/hub team.
4. Are family-members of airline staff allowed to be a member in an ASCA-team ?
As long as they qualify for ID-Tickets (Type S or R) family members are qualified. Details can be found in the Constitution as well.
